- I have a passion for any kind of art...As a small child I grew up in a home with both parents loving antiques.After my parents divorced we moved alot but antiques and art were always a constant.My mothers brother was a professional artist by the name of Jay Steensma and I can remember when he would come to visit how he could turn anything into an art lesson. In fact I can remeber him and my mother sitting at the table while he taught her to paint a still life of a tea cup.He also bought and sold antiques and made christmas a very exciting time of the year.He was the only guy I knew who could turn a tuna sandwich into a gourmet experience.Although he was as crazy as a Madd Hatter he had a heart of gold and the mind of a genius,I was very blessed to have him in my life.His influence can be seen in both my mothers and my decorating and art skills. Because of my wonderful husband I have been able to stay at home raising our boys and persuing my many and varied art whimes.
